What's with all this product placement on soaps?

First I was watching OLTL and Todd was eating Campbells Healthy Heart something soup, then on GH Maxie gave Spinelli some juice that I don't even remember what it was called but it was so unnatural and I felt like I was watching a really lame commercial. I know it's gotta be due to the economy and blah blah but it's so weird the way they just throw it into the soaps. Is this annoying anyone else?
