Wine isn't running any programs?

I've had Ubuntu for about a week now and it's been running fine until I tried running a program (VisualBoy if it matters) and it gave me a warning saying it was not marked as executable. I found out I was supposed to so to properties and mark it as executable and I did that and stopped getting the warning but the program still won't run. Does anyone know how - if it is possible - to fix this?
